Bob McDonnell's t.v. blitz an attempt to etch-a-sketch his record
April 25, 2012
According to The Roanoke Times, today Bob McDonnell will begin a $400,000 positive t.v. ad blitz across the state to bolster his ailing poll numbers.
Progressive Point: Virginians have been clear about their priorities: investing in our economic growth, ensuring our kids get a good education to prepare them for a 21st century economy, and repairing our crumbling transportation infrastructure. Its no secret that these have not been the priorities of our elected officials this year. Now Bob McDonnell is trying to etch-a-sketch his record, in hopes that glossy t.v. ads will make Virginians forget what he's really been up to.
Virginians don't fool that easily. It'll take more than some slick commercials to make us forget about the cuts to public education, the failure to fix our transportation challenges, and the obcene focus on legislation about women's bodies and suppressing the vote. Bob McDonnell may be able to shake his head and forget about his own record, but for the rest of Virginia its not that easy.
